Shipping & Pricing
What you're on the hook for — and what we are.
When Fengyuan sends you an indicative quote, it's a FOB China unit price. We deliver to the ship; you handle everything after. Here's the full picture, so nothing is a surprise.
01 · Definition
What "indicative quote" means
An indicative quote is a good-faith FOB unit price based on your specs — size, weave, weight, color, packaging, quantity. It's what we send back within 24 hours (GMT+8), before samples ship or an order is cut.
It's not a final commercial invoice. Final pricing is confirmed once specs are locked, samples approved, and shipment terms agreed. Between indicative and final, the number rarely moves more than a few percent — but we don't lock numbers until we know we can hold them.
02 · Scope
What's in the price, and what isn't
Fengyuan handles
- ✓Production to your specs — mill selection, QC, packaging
- ✓Export clearance from China
- ✓Trucking to the origin port (typically Shanghai)
- ✓Loading onto the vessel
You handle
- ○Ocean freight from origin port to destination
- ○Marine insurance, if you want it
- ○Destination port handling and customs clearance
- ○Import duty and any applicable tariffs
- ○Drayage from destination port to your warehouse
03 · Landed cost
From FOB to landed — an illustrative breakdown
Not a quote. Rates shift with carrier, season, and routing. Your forwarder and customs broker will have live numbers.
For every $1.00 of FOB unit price, landed cost to a US warehouse typically runs $1.40–$1.60 once everything is added up:
FOB Shanghai unit price
$1.00
Ocean freight share
Varies widely by lane, season, FCL vs LCL.
$0.15 – $0.30
US import duty — HTS 6307.10.2030, 5.3% MFN
$0.05
Section 301 tariff (China origin)
Your customs broker will confirm the current effective rate.
variable
Port handling + drayage
$0.05 – $0.15
Landed cost per unit
~$1.40 – $1.60
Ocean freight is the swing factor. A 40' container from Shanghai can run $2,000 one quarter and $6,000 the next. If landed-cost certainty matters more than absolute price, ask us about DDP.
04 · Other terms
If FOB isn't the right fit
Our default is FOB China — typically Shanghai. Best if you already work with a forwarder and want control of the ocean leg.
On request
EXW
We hand off at the factory. You handle export clearance and everything downstream. Uncommon — use it only if your forwarder has a China presence.
DDP
We handle everything to your warehouse door, including US duty and tariffs. Slower to quote (we lock freight first), but one number, no surprises.
