01 — THE CLOTH

What is microfiber terry cloth?

Microfiber terry cloth is a looped-pile fabric woven from split polyester–polyamide yarn — typically 80/20 or 70/30 blend — at densities between 180 and 550 GSM. The loops trap and hold particulate, grease, and moisture far more effectively than flat-weave alternatives, which is why terry has become the default format for janitorial, automotive, and hospitality wiping.

Fengyuan ships terry in four standard colorways — Clinic Blue, Ward Green, Isolation Pink, and Bone White — because those are what infection-control protocols and color-coded cleaning systems actually require. Custom PMS matching is available above MOQ.

"If you're buying microfiber and your supplier can't tell you the GSM, the blend ratio, and the edge finish — find another supplier."
— Raymond Deng

Why does GSM matter?

GSM (grams per square meter) determines weight, absorbency, and durability. A 250 GSM cloth is light and fast-drying — good for glass and surface wiping. A 400+ GSM cloth is dense and plush — better for heavy-duty degreasing and floor mopping. Higher GSM also means higher cost per piece and a lower MOQ in pieces (because each piece is heavier against the 300 kg batch minimum).

What's the difference between 80/20 and 70/30 blend?

80/20 (polyester/polyamide) is the standard for cleaning applications — good absorbency, good durability, good cost. 70/30 has more polyamide (nylon), which makes it softer and more absorbent but slightly more expensive. We default to 80/20 unless the buyer specifies otherwise.

What edge finishes are available?

Bound (reinforced — our default), ultrasonic (sealed, no thread), overlock (thread overcast — economical), satin (premium, hospitality-grade), and laser (precision cut, no fray). Each adds a different cost per piece.

What's the MOQ?

300 kg per colorway per batch. In pieces, that depends on the cloth size and GSM. A 40×40 cm cloth at 380 GSM weighs about 61 g, so 300 kg ÷ 0.061 kg ≈ 4,900 pieces. The configurator below calculates this for you.

What's the lead time?

30 days for standard colors and no branding. Add 7 days for custom PMS color. Add 5 days for branding (silkscreen, woven label, or heat-transfer).
